1 - Portable Charger
Anker PowerCore 20100mAh Portable Charger – I have used this portable charger for the last few years. Before upgrading my iPhone and iPad, this charger was more than sufficient. I was able to charge my daily devices several times before needing to recharge it.
RAVPower USB C Portable Charger 26800mAh – With my recent device upgrades, I had to upgrade my portable charger to allow for USB-C support. Although this charger is a bit more expensive, I can say it is well worth it. Not only is it a larger capacity battery, the USB-C port charges devices significantly faster than before.
2 - Charging Stand
Bestand 2 in 1 Phone 15W (for LG) Wireless Charging Stand – I mentioned this charging stand in one of my previous posts about what’s on my desk. This affordable stand is sleek in design but very practical to stay connected at my desk.
Boaraino 3 in 1 Wireless Charging Stand – If you are deep in the Apple ecosystem like I am, this charging stand will be a great addition to your bedside table. What I love most about this stand is the minimizing of cables, only needing a single AC power cable.
3 - Smart Plug
Kasa Smart Plug – Probably the most underrated device on this list, these plugs will certainly come in handy. Smart plugs allow you to remotely stop electricity flow, as well as set timers. Some examples of our usages are having lamps turn on/off at certain times as well as to control the lights on our Christmas tree (during Wintertime of course). Lights on a schedule come in clutch for Scooby, especially when we are home alone. Whereas with the Christmas tree, no more army crawling underneath it to unplug the lights.
Philips Hue 552349 Smart Plug – Ultimately the same device as Kasa but likely a better fit if you already own Philips Hue products.
4- USB Data Hub
Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub – another device mentioned in my post about what’s on my desk. Considering the several devices that require a USB port to charge or operate, having this data hub will ensure you don’t run out of ports on your desktop.
Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Ultra Slim Data Hub – This hub is tailored to those of you on the go with a laptop. The portable design eliminates the need for an AC outlet and reduced size/weight for easier travel.
5 - Wireless Keyboard
Logitech K400 Plus Wireless Touch Keyboard – This particular keyboard is one that we have been using for our HTPC (home-theatre PC). Although it’s signal may not work from a different room, this keyboard is the perfect companion to simplify our media experience.
Logitech K380 Bluetooth Keyboard – One of the best purchases I have ever made. The main reason I like this keyboard so much is the ability to switch between 3 different devices with a click of a button. You can connect this keyboard to your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. This is ideal for multitaskers.
6 - Portable Hard Drive
Seagate Portable 4TB External Hard Drive – With our need to share moments via photos and videos, you may come across the infamous ‘out of storage’ error on your devices. To avoid having to delete important moments of your life, you can transfer older photos/videos or files in general to a portable hard drive. There are many brands out there but my personal favourite is Seagate as they provide solid performance/durability at a reasonable price.
Western Digital 4TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive – If you are a Western Digital fan, here is another option you could use.
7 - SD Card Reader
Anker 2-in-1 USB 3.0 Portable Card Reader – Speaking of storage, many modern PCs and laptops don’t have an SD card slot built-in. This small ‘dongle’ gives you the capability of taking your Android phone or camera’s SD card and access its data on your computer.
8 - Portable Speaker
Bose Sound Link Color Bluetooth Speaker II – These things are great for backyard parties/events. Play your own music, broadcast your favourite radio station or amplify the sound of the main event for your guests. Bose has always been known for its powerful sounding speakers and this one definitely continues to fit the profile.
JBL Clip 3 Portable Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Speaker – If you hosting or attending a pool party, here is a great option to ensure your speaker doesn’t get waterlogged.
9 - Wireless Earbuds/Headphones
Jabra Elite 75T True Wireless Earbuds – The Jabra Elite 75T wireless earbuds provide a low profile look while sounding great. Ideal for those on the go, whether travelling or simply going to the gym.
Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones WH1000XM3 – Probably the most popular wireless headphones on the market today, these pack a punch and will literally amplify your audio experience. The price may seem a bit steep but I can assure you that you will definitely get your money’s worth. These are one of Brit’s favourite tech items.
Sennheiser CX 350BT Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Headphone – Sennheiser’s CX 350BT supports low-latency, allowing you to properly enjoy your favourite movies/videos. Avoid the audio/video sync issue with these affordable wireless earphones.
10 - Meat Thermometer
ThermoPro TP18 Ultra-Fast Digital Instant Read Meat Thermometer – Not to say I am a perfect cook by any means, but I never saw the need for a meat thermometer until I owned one. Since the first day using it, my cooking game has definitely gone to a new level. With this thermometer, no more overcooked chicken and a perfectly medium-rare steak every time.
ThermoPro TP06S Digital Meat Thermometer – If you are slow-cooking anything like a roast, whole chicken/turkey or ribs, you can leave this thermometer plugged in to keep track of its cooking progress.
Bonus - Device Tracker
Tile Mate (2020) – Ever misplace anything? Wallet, phone, keys? Tile Mate gives you your own little tracking device to attach to your frequently lost items, making it easier to locate them. The original Tile didn’t have a replaceable battery but their 2020 version has changed that, preventing you from having to buy new ones when they die.
