Happy Easter to those of you celebrating this weekend. In addition to that, today is Grilled Cheese Day! With that said, we have collected some of our favourite recipes and others we would like to try. Let’s dive into the best Grilled Cheese recipes!
The only thing more classic than this is a plain Grilled Cheese. Ham and cheese is likely an iconic lunch duo that you ate growing up (I definitely did). Joanne from The Salty Pot has broken down this simple recipe even further by determining the best type of ham, cheese and bread depending on what your tastebuds desire.
This Grilled Cheese recipe is a great way to bring something new to your breakfast routine. With a fried egg, you can cook it however you like. Sunnyside up, over easy, over medium, over hard, poached, even scrambled if you prefer. Such a simple recipe but so appetizing to start the day! Terri’s got you covered with her Fried Egg Grilled Cheese recipe.
Jalapeno poppers are one of our favourite hors d’oeuvres/snack foods. But yet we have never thought about bringing it to a Grilled Cheese sandwich. This is a recipe we need to try. With only 15 minutes of cook time, Holly from Spend with Pennies has nailed the ultimate comfort food with this recipe.
Brit’s go-to appetizer at almost any restaurant is spinach and artichoke dip. Blending that into a sandwich allows the dip to be handheld and provide an even taste from start to finish. A Couple Cooks has the recipe for you.
This is another household favourite. There is something about French Onion that takes this Grilled Cheese to the next level. My mouth waters just looking at the picture! Although there is some prep-time involved, it is well worth the wait. Heidi from FoodieCrush has a great recipe available.
It doesn’t get any more Canadian than this. The Canadianesque Maple Bacon Grilled Cheese will give you sweet, salty and savoury flavours all-in-one. This recipe may be a bit of a messy one, depending on how much of the glaze you want to put on. But who cares? This recipe is awesome. I find this one to be an interesting combo, but dill pickle chips fans would love this recipe. Amy from Little Dairy on the Prairie has a family farm that has inspired this recipe, along with several others.
For those of you looking for a healthier recipe, this is one you have to try. Although it is not a typical ‘Grilled Cheese’, you can easily tweak it to be. Although I am a big fan of goat cheese, Brit is not. Because of this, we don’t make any meals involving goat cheese. If we were making our own sandwiches for lunch, this would be one way to enjoy it! Another simple option to spice up your Grilled Cheese repertoire. Prep time is minimal as the extra ingredients are simply sliced tomatoes and basil. A little extra prep will spruce up your Grilled Cheese game. Jaclyn at Cooking Classy has you covered with her Caprese Grilled Cheese recipe.
To wrap up our list we got a mouthful, in a good way. Chicken, pesto, sundried tomato and mozzarella (yummy)! If you want a Grilled Cheese recipe that is going to fill you up, here it is! Kudos to Chris for making this list twice as he brings his Chicken Pesto Grilled Cheese recipe on Don’t Go Bacon My Heart.
